In every correctional facility, there is the potential for major disturbances. Although most situations can be handled by Officers and Supervisors, many cannot.

When it is apparent that there may be a confrontation or condition developing that requires assistance, the Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) unit may be called in. ERTs can total from 60-90 officers at one scene distributed throughout the correction facility. The average Unit consists of 6 members which includes the Team Leader who "Leads" the Team, and an Equipment/Video member (E.Q.V.) who captures the entire response on videotape. For the most part the E.R.T. unit would be utilized for :

Forced cell moves Disturbances High risk prisoner escorts
Crisis Intervention Hostage Situations High risk transportation
Crowd Control/Riots Search & Rescue High risk court protection
High Risk Entries/Raids WMD Response Hazmat Incident Response

For all the scenarios above, Alcyone Systems' 3D Locator™ System enables the Warden and the Incident Commander to monitor the personnel and be able to have real time location capability, with unique identity of each officer. Alcyone's System allows personnel to operate under harsh environments as firefighters do as it relates to smoke, hazardous chemicals and in some cases fire.

With Alcyone's advanced wireless network, ERTs are also able to transmit real time video to the Warden or Incident Commander on the scene.

Alcyone Systems' 3D Locator™ System has real time video transmission capability which is integrated in the heads up display of the law enforcement officer.

Each officer can monitor and track the other officer's location and status. This real time information is also simultaneously transmitted to the command post.
